About the Product
The Löwenstein Medical LENA Elbow is the critical connection point between your mask frame and the air supply. Engineered for the high-performance demands of the LENA Full Face Mask, this elbow ensures that air flows quietly and smoothly, while providing the flexibility needed for a restful night’s sleep.
As a genuine Löwenstein replacement part, it features integrated safety valves and the whisper-quiet exhalation system that makes the LENA a preferred choice for high-pressure and ventilation therapy.
Key Features
- Whisper-Quiet Diffuse Venting: The elbow contains the mask's primary exhalation ports, designed to disperse air gently and silently. This prevents noisy air jets from disturbing you or your partner, even at high therapy pressures.
- 100% Magnet-Free Safety: In keeping with the LENA’s safety-first design, this elbow contains no magnets. It is completely safe for patients with pacemakers, ICDs, or other implanted metallic devices, ensuring no risk of magnetic interference.
- 360° Ball-and-Socket Joint: Enjoy total freedom of movement. The elbow rotates a full 360 degrees, allowing your CPAP tubing to move with you as you change positions, preventing "tube drag" from breaking the seal of your mask.
- Integrated Anti-Asphyxia Valve (AAV): Safety is built-in. The elbow includes a precision-engineered safety valve that allows you to breathe room air in the event of a power failure or machine stoppage.
- Easy-Click Attachment: Designed for a secure, airtight snap-fit onto the LENA frame, making assembly and disassembly for cleaning quick and intuitive.
When to Replace Your Elbow?
While the LENA elbow is built for durability, it is a moving part and should be inspected regularly. Air Liquide Healthcare recommends a replacement if:
- Stiffness: The ball-and-socket joint no longer swivels smoothly.
- Noise: You notice an increase in air noise or a "hissing" sound from the connection point.
- Valve Wear: The internal safety flap (AAV) appears torn, stiff, or fails to move freely.
- Loose Fit: The elbow no longer "clicks" securely into the mask frame.
